Halo MCC Update is Now Available: Halo 3 PC Launch Date Details and More

Microsoft has announced that the huge Halo 3 MCC update is now available, introducing Halo 3 PC earlier than expected.

The Halo MCC update for this week is already rolling out across platforms. While the initial Halo 3 PC launch date was scheduled for later, it seems that some things have changed. A new post from the Community Director at 343 Industries announced that today’s (July 14) Halo Master Chief Collection update is available for most players. Here is what you need to know.

Halo 3 MCC is Now Available: What You Should Know

The Halo 3 MCC is now available for most players. But, while PC players will be able to begin playing Halo 3 earlier than they first believed, it should be noted that some services might not be online until later on July 14.

Here’s a message from the 343 Industries Community Team says: “It’s been nearly 13 years, we figure you’ve waited long enough; some services may still be coming online ahead of our “official” launch tomorrow AM.”

PC players can now include Halo 3 to their PC libraries at an extra cost. The full install size for every platform is:

  • Steam – MCC Bundle Owners will get 17.6GB update with Halo: Reach, H2: A, H: CEA, and Halo 3 being almost 124.5 installed;
  • Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta) – MCC owners will get a 20.84GB update with the full install of 93.15GB;
  • Xbox – MCC will get a 23.38GB update with a full install of 127.76.

The services mentioned above are where Halo 3 can be played on consoles and PC, and it’s not the only massive change going live today (July 14). The fan-favorite Forge items are expanding to new games as part of the bigger MCC patch available now. Other updates include:

Halo 3 Customization

The customization consists of displaying your emblem on your shoulder, armor detail colors in-game, and choosing specific armor pieces separately.

Halo: CE Customization

Halo: CE now has customization options such as Vehicle Skins, Weapon Skins, and Visors. The skins will stay applied, even if you drop the weapon or exist the vehicle. How great!

Audio Fixes

Halo: Reach, and Halo 3 will be receiving many audio fixes across the board. Try boosting up the volume and enjoy a new audio experience!
