WhatsApp Web Gets Support for Messenger Rooms

If you’re also among the numerous people who like using WhatsApp on their laptops or desktop computers, you can feel lucky once again. Facebook, the company that owns the instant messaging app since 2014, is now bringing the Messenger Rooms feature for WhatsApp Web.

Messenger Rooms already started to be rolling out, and all you need to do in order to get it is to keep WhatsApp Web installed on your computer and assure yourself that you have the latest version installed (2.2031.4).

How to create Messenger Rooms from WhatsApp

The process is very simple once you get to master it. You can do it by clicking on the three dots from the top left corner of your screen and then select the Create a Room option. Once you click on that, a new window will appear on the screen, and it will practically invite you to go directly to the feature. From this point, all you have to do left is to click on “Continue with Messenger,” and you’re all set.

Creating and sharing a room in Messenger Rooms is like a walk in the park, as the developers themselves suggest:

Creating and sharing a room is as easy as sending a link. You can start one from Facebook or Messenger, and soon from Instagram, WhatsApp and Portal.

Joining a room is also fun and exciting:

f you see a room and want to join, just pop in. You can join straight from News Feed, events, Facebook Groups and soon, Messenger.

WhatsApp has recently reached an impressive milestone: 2 billion users, or to put it in another way: more than a quarter of the world’s population. And the even better news is that there’s no reason to believe that this number will go down pretty soon.
