Warcraft 3: Reforged — Release Date, Spoils of War Bonuses, and Unlock Times

Are you ready to relive the old times of Warcraft? Tomorrow you’ll be able to go back in time and play Warcraft III: Reforged, the remastered 2002 classic game that you once enjoyed.

While some players hoped they’d get some new single-players story content, we cannot say the remastered game is disappointing. Those that have pre-ordered the game were able to try it while in the beta version. In a review by PC Invasion, we learn that:

“The classic gameplay and campaign stand the test of time, and the potential of creative custom games to reach a new audience is still there.

But some initially promised features, like remade campaign cinematics and additional single-player story content, have been cut or scaled back. It’s also been confirmed that it will be fully compatible with classic Warcraft III, with a toggle for the Reforged enhancements. It’s good for old-school fans but somewhat limited for those who were hoping for more novelties.”

Warcraft 3: Reforged – Release Date, Editions and Bonuses

Blizzard stated the release date for Warcraft 3: Reforged is January 28, 2020. The game will go live on 3:00 PM PT. This means for players across Europe, the game will be available around midnight.

Blizzard hasn’t yet stated anything about early preloads, but we do know that the game will include the DLC that brings the two expansions – Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.

Warcraft 3: Reforged can be purchased in two versions: standard edition and Spoils of War edition.

The Spoils of War Edition will bring the following multiplayer hero skins: Champion of the Horde Thrall, Daughter of the Seas Proudmoore, Fallen King Arthas and Emerald Nightmare Cenarius.

Players that purchase the Spoils of War Edition will also be getting a Meat Wagon Mount, said to be “a favorite of the Lich King,” and an “an invaluable piece of the Scourge arsenal.”

There will also be other bonuses which can be redeemed in these Blizzard titles:

  • Diablo 3 players will get the Mal’ganis pet.
  • Heroes of the Storm players get Jaina, Thrall, Anub’arak, and Tyrande for free.
  • StarCraft II players get Alliance, Horde, Sentinels and Scourge console skins.
  • StarCraft Remastered players will get the Spoils of War console skin.
  • Hearthstone players will unlock the Third War card back.
  • Overwatch players will receive four animated sprays and five-player icons.

Honestly, we would have loved something for World of Warcraft as well, but we can agree the bonuses above are more than enough for those that play Blizzard’s other titles. Check out www.playwarcraft3.com for more details about Warcraft 3: Reforged.
