Vivo APEX 2020 is Official Now with Borderless Design, Optical Zoom, and In-Display Camera

Vivo was assumed to display its APEX 2020 design smartphone at the MWC 2020 in Barcelona. The coronavirus outbreak changed the plans of the company, so a cancelation was the right thing to do. Many companies, too, decided to cancel their attendance.

But even if news seems to be a little bit disappointing, we still got something from Vivo. Developers offered a glimpse of the upcoming Vivo Apex 2020. The smartphone was teased through a series of videos. The Apex 2020 smartphone is displayed without a curved display and any borderline on the parts with pressure-sensing capacitive keys.

According to the teasers, Apex 2020 got a 6.45-inch FullView display with a 2330×1080 pixel resolution. It also got sleek 120-degree slant edges. As for its camera, images indicate a 16MP in-display selfie camera.

Vivo Apex 2020 Features Announced

The smartphone utilizes 4-in-1 pixel-binning systems for providing a 4MP shot, and it is also speculated to be covered by glass, which would be approximately six times more lightweight. On its back, Apex 2020 comes with a 48MP main camera and a stabilization technology which can offer gimbal-like stabilization. Devs stated that such a system is 200 % more steady than the regular OIS. The sensor blends pixels of 12MP pictures and provides the best stabilization so far.

The second sensor on the back camera, on the other hand, is equipped with a 16MP camera sensor with physical zooming skills. The 16MP camera sensor has an optical zoom of up to 7.5x, and such a thing can be done without digital zoom. Vivo Apex 2020’s camera module is developed with periscope lenses pounded with two moving lenses and two fixed.

The most significant feature, however, is that it doesn’t come with a port at all, meaning that users will charge it only wirelessly. The option is dubbed Super FlashCharge 60W by the company and is said to be capable of powering up 2,000 mAh battery in 20 minutes.
