Twitter Fleets Will Be the Newest 24 Hours-Only ‘Stories’ Feature

Disappearing stories is a well-known trend that will soon be introduced to Twitter. Named Twitter Fleets, the upcoming feature is similar to the Instagram Stories and WhatsApp Status.

Currently, Twitter is still testing out the functionality in Italy, Brazil, and India. Twitter Fleets will come with a couple of different features. Here is what you need to know.

Understanding Twitter Fleets: Features and Other Details

Twitter Fleets aren’t private stories. But, the posts are less available on the Twitter platform. When you tweet something, it usually appears on the Twitter, and it can show up in Search, and even in Moments. The tweets can also be embedded on third-party webpages.

The upcoming feature, on the other hand, is not that accessible. The stories disappear after 24 hours and don’t appear at all on Twitter Search or anywhere else. Twitter Fleets can be seen by accessing someone’s public Twitter profile. Similar to Instagram Stories, Twitter’s feature is also placed at the top of the screen.

How to Add a Post or Picture on Twitter Fleets

Like the Instagram Stories and WhatsApp Status, you can click on the small plus icon on the profile picture and add Twitter Fleets. You can upload photos, share a GIF, or add a post. You can also add more than one Fleet and quickly scroll down to see them all.

The initial concept of disappearing posts was brought by Snapchat, which was immediately replicated on Instagram as Stories. The Stories on Instagram is now one of the most praised features of the social platform. The functionality arrived later on Facebook, WhatsApp, and YouTube. Twitter is the newest platform to introduce the 24-hours Stories feature.

It’s still unknown when Twitter Fleets will be launched globally. Currently, the feature is tested in countries such as Italy, Brazil, and India. New details should be released in the coming weeks.
