PlayStation 4’s exclusive The Last of Us Part 2 will be the biggest game on the platform, and there’s more than one reason to believe that.
The game is shaping up to be an incredible installment when it launches on the console next month. Ahead of its release, developer Naughty Dog has unveiled new details about the expected sequel. Here is what you need to know.
The Last of Us Part 2’s Launch Date and Other Details
According to the most recent comments, The Last of Us Part 2 could be the biggest PS4 game title yet. And judging by what Anthony Newman said, the game is so big that players could miss the whole story sequences. He said that The Last of Us Part 2 has some great story moments, full scripted sequences, and entire combat encounters.
Newman explained: “Even though a portion of our player base may never see these things, the fact that when you do encounter them, you feel like you discovered them it lends them this charm and this magic I think is unique to games.” Considering that the first installment was somehow linear, Newman’s surprising announcement makes the wait for The Last of Us Part 2 even harder. Luckily, we don’t have to wait for too long, because The Last of Us Part 2 is only weeks away from release.
Naughty Dog’s sequel takes place five years after the first part, as the survivors find their way in Wyoming. Ellie and Joel live now in a thriving community that gives them stability, despite the peril of the hopeless and infected survivors. But when a violent event ends the peace, Ellie starts a relentless quest for justice. “Hunting those responsible, she’s confronted by devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions,” detailed Naughty Dog.
The Last of Us Part 2 is believed to come with a “dynamic stealth” gameplay, a “fluid movement” system, and “tense melee combat.” The game will be released on June 19 on PS4. Fans who pre-order will get a PSN avatar of Ellie’s sleeve tattoo, a crafting manual for upgrades and recipes, various supplements needed to unlock recipes, skills, and an ammo upgrade for Ellie’s gun.
