The Google Pixel 5 will come with a Competitive Price Tag

Google’s line of Pixel devices sports the best cameras that can be found on smartphones, but they haven’t been able to beat the dual dominance of Apple and Samsung. It appears that Google is working on a new strategy to make its device more popular.

According to a reliable source, Google has sent a survey to select users, inquiring about their opinions related to the price of two Google smartphones that could be released soon. This is a clear attempt to gauge the potential reaction to the upcoming Pixel devices, and there is some great news.

Undercutting the competition

Two unnamed Pixel devices are mentioned in the survey. One of them is a Goggle Pixel Phone, which comes with a plastic body and the beloved 3.5mm jack, priced at $349. The other is a Premium Google Pixel Phone which features the best camera on the market, water-resistance, and support for wireless charging at $699

It can be said without a doubt that the first device is the Pixel 4a. An earlier report mentioned that the anticipated budget device would be sold at $349, which is $50 less in comparison to Apple’s revamped iPhone SE.

Affordable flagship

The premium device mentioned in the survey is thought to be the Google Pixel 5, and the smaller price would give it a major edge against the competition. Google sold the Pixel 4 for $799 at launch, and the $100 price reduction is quite significant.

Such a low price tag would make the Pixel 5 a direct competitor to the iPhone 11 while being cheaper by $300 in comparison to the Samsung Galaxy S20. It is also likely that it may compete with the base iPhone 12 model, which should be accompanied by a $649 price tag.

Select features could be sacrificed to reduce the manufacturing cost, but only time will tell.
