Spotify introduced Time Capsule, the newest feature that you don’t want to miss out!
Time travel could be beyond our imagination, but Spotify’s newest feature will surely bring us back to the past. Spotify Time Capsule brings you 50 songs from your youth, based on the region you live in, how old you are, and genres you love.
Time Capsule is like a personal collection of memories meant to bring you joy, tears, and extra fun. Here is what you need to know.
A Time Capsule to Remember
Spotify describes how unique the newest feature is, saying: “…no two listeners have the same mix.” And for the greatest results, users will need to have been using Spotify for a few years, and of course, be a certain age. So, sorry kids, but you’ll have to wait a bit!
Spotify discussed how the idea of a Time Capsule emerged. It all started with an uptick in the number of users looking for music from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. David DiSalvo, a behavioral science writer, thinks that such choices are all about comfort, especially now that we’re in the middle of a global pandemic.
A frequently updated playlist of songs from our youth can certainly be comforting!
Get Access to Spotify Time Capsule
Accessing your Time Capsule on Spotify is very easy. Just open the Made For You tab, and your playlist should be there waiting for you.
If you use the desktop variant of Spotify, you’ll find the Made For You tab on the left of your screen, below Your Library. Click on that, and you’ll see the Time Capsule playlist right away. On the mobile app, Spotify’s Time Capsule is on your home screen.
Time Capsule playlists have been unavailable for quite a while for users under 16. However, Spotify didn’t say explicitly that younger users won’t be able to listen to music.
