Snapchat is coming with great news for us. There’s a new feature waiting for us: it uses your selfies to replaced the faces of people in specific videos with your face. It’s quite easy to fake your way into GIFs. Snapchat Cameos are alternatives to Bitmoji – a reaction to a silly situation in Snapchat messages.
The company stated that Cameos are not ready yet for the official app, but that the global debut will happen soon. Soon might be on the 18th of December, with the worldwide rollout on Android and iOS.
How can you make Snapchat Cameos?
First, you will need to take a selfie, so the app knows what you look like. Then you choose if you want a male or a female body type. Cameo will then be inside the Bitmoji button in the messaging keyboard from Snapchat.
Snapchat made 150 short looping video clips with sound, which you can choose. New ones are continually coming every week. You can dance like crazy, fall asleep, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. You can even apply your face to actors’ heads in individual videos. You just have to pick one of the videos and send them to the chat.
You can enable multi-friend Cameos and see yourself in the same video with your friends. You can browse them by searching key terms, such as “lol” or “hey” to find related clips. But don’t worry, you can always retake your selfies if you want to improve your look. You can save your Cameos to your camera roll.
This feature helps you in keeping things interesting. The competition is enormous between WhatsApp, Instagram, and Snapchat, let’s not even mention Facebook, so Snapchat needs to find a way to keep things interesting at all times.
