New benchmark records of AMD’s latest Zen 3 powered Ryzen 9 5950X are now available, and they are incredible. The mighty processor succeeded in reaching higher than expected for both multi and single-threaded performance.
AMD’s Zen 3 based Ryzen 5000 Series processors launch is almost here, and the benchmarks are thriving. For instance, the recent one suggests that AMD will soon have the most powerful single-core performance in the market.
The piece of news was shared by ComputerBase, a German publication, which found a listing on PassMark.
Here is what you need to know.
AMD Smashes Records
According to the listing, AMD Ryzen 9 5950X got 3,693 in the single-threaded test, while in the multi-threaded test, scored 45,593.
Such results mean that the processor is 16 % faster, respectively 88 % faster than the current Intel i9-10900K. It’s also 16 % faster than the previous generation, Ryzen 9 3950X.
AMD’s mighty new performer seems to carry an incredible value compared to Intel’s gaming flagship offering. Also, compared to the most affordable Zen 3 CPU, the Ryzen 9 5600X, the Ryzen 9 5950X is 5,7 % faster in the single-core test and 99.7 % faster in the multi-threaded test.
More performance details
Unfortunately, we don’t know yet if the Ryzen 9 5950X CPU was overclocked or running with extra fast memory. It might not seem like a big issue, but it would make a significant difference to the overall performance.
However, the benchmark software is not considered representative of real-world performance. It shows how AMD has truly managed to overtake its rival in the single-threaded performance test while keeping its incredible lead in the multi-threaded performance.
Suppose the leaks turn out to be accurate. In that case, Intel must start developing something truly spectacular in terms of performance and pricing, too, with its upcoming offering, the 11th Gen Rocket Lake processors.
AMD Ryzen 5000 Series is expected to debut on November 5. More details will be unveiled soon.
