Roblox has been around since 2006, and is still among the favourites of the public, due to its unique format, which allows players and creators to meet on one platform. It is more popular than Minecraft – it has reached more than 100 million active users in 2019, which makes it the largest user-generated online gaming platform in the world. You know that it is only available for PC, Xbox One and mobile. Rumor has it, it will be available on PS4, too.
Will that ever happen?
This rumor is just a rumor. Microsoft already signed an exclusive deal with Roblox in 2015, which means that the game makes its appearance only on its console, Xbox One. At one point, we heard about Sony making a deal with Roblox in order to release the game on PS4, but there is simply no proof. And Sony has not released any statements so far. If you go and log on to Roblox by using your PS4, you’ll see the message with “your current platform isn’t supported.”
It won’t be coming for PS5 either
Fans all over the world are waiting for the release of PS5 this year, and they were hoping to see Roblox on PS5, as well. But truth be told, no one knows if the game will be released on PS5, or if it’s even in the plan to do so.
PS5 will be better than its predecessor, which is a good thing since it leaves an open door for games like Roblox. As per the CEO of PlayStation, Jum Ryan, with every console, the processor and graphics get better, which is, of course, compelling, but we need to have unique elements too.” That is all we know so far.
