
News about Xiaomi already working at an upcoming smartphone emerged a few months ago. The Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max became official for a while now, but recent leaks and other rumors suggested another installment in the series, the Redmi Note 9.
A TENAA listing was leaked and indicated the model number M2003J15SC for the upcoming device. Now we even got an official confirmation for its release event. Xiaomi posted on Twitter that the Redmi Note 9 will be revealed on April 30. Due to the current pandemic crisis, the smartphone will be unveiled via an online event.
Redmi Note 9 Leaked Specs and Features
According to the last rumors and leaks, the Redmi Note 9 is expected to sport a 6.53-inch FHD+ Corning Gorilla Glass screen with a 2340×1080 pixel resolution. Under the hood, the device could arrive with a 2Hz MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, 6GB RAM, 128GB for storage, and support for expandable storage via a microSD card.
Redmi Note 9 is believed to run on Android 10 with an MIUI 11. Other features include an IR sensor, a fingerprint sensor, dual-SIM support, an USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, dual 4G VoLTE, GPS, and Wi-Fi. The smartphone could be powered by a 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

As for its camera module, Redmi Note 9 should house a rear panel quad-camera with a 48MP main sensor with PDAF, EIS, and LED flash. Also, an 8MP secondary ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP tertiary macro-lens. For selfies and video calls, the device could sport a camera of 13MP.
Xiaomi unveiled that it will start promoting other products, as well, such as the MI TV Stick, MI Note 10 Lite, a new Router, and more stuff for European users. Redmi Note 9 is next in the list.
