Redmi 9 Prime is scheduled to hit the market this month, on September 7. The smartphone was launched recently as a rebranded variant of the Redmi 9 global version. 

Now, the device is ready to go on sale via the official website or Amazon India for Indian buyers. It has a price tag of Rs. 9,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB version, and the 4GB RAM + 128GB model will be available for Rs. 11,999.

The recently launched smartphone sports a Full HD+ IPS panel, which is a great offering. Usually, such a thing is not available at the price point Redmi 9 Prime will come. The display measures 6.53-inch, features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and is protected by the 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3. 

The company officially announced that an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 chipset (gaming-centric) paired with 4GB DDR4X RAM would power the smartphone. Games like CoD or PUBG, which are considered “heavy” games, could be handled without any issue. Redmi 9 Prime comes with a 5,020mAh battery with support for 18W fast-charging. The battery is said to last up to two days, and such performance only after a single charge. 

Redmi 9 Prime runs on Android 10 OS topped with MIUI 11. The quad-rear camera module houses a 13MP main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro shooter, a 2MP depth sensor, and 8MP for the selfie camera. Other camera features include support for HDR, Panorama, Portrait, and more yet to be unveiled.

Coming to connectivity, the Redmi 9 Prime has a Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G VoLTE, GPS/A-GPS, a USB Type-C port, and an IR blaster. The upcoming smartphone sure does come with one of the best features for an entry-level handset.
