A PS5 TV ad has been leaked, showing us the best side of Sony’s next-gen console.
The video was posted, then deleted, from PlayStation’s Hungarian YouTube channel. Shortly after, Sony posted the video to its official PS channel. The ad surely speaks volumes, showing PS5’s skills and features in action. Here is what you need to know.
PS5 Commercial Shows Off Incredible Features
During the VFX-heavy ad, the text and VO on-screen put a considerable focus on the immersion we will feel while playing games on the PlayStation 5. Such a thing will likely come from the next-gen console’s 3D audio, DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback.
The text at the end of the commercial reads “haptic feedback,” “3D audio,” and “adaptive triggers,” to emphasize the concept, with the line beneath, “Welcome to a new, captivating world.” These things show what we hear in the short film’s voice over, which exclaims, “welcome to a new world of immersion.” You can watch the commercial below.
In a PS Blog post following the new trailer, some developers unveiled how they’ll plan to take advantage of the DualSense controller. For instance, in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, we’ll feel a rumble from specific directions to know where the villains are coming. In Gran Turismo 7, we’ll use the adaptive triggers to replicate the feel of a brake pedal, while in Horizon: Forbidden West will use them to make the guns feel more satisfying and unique.
We’re expecting another huge announcement from Sony about the next-gen console at the end of the month (August). With availability and pricing details still unknown, but the retail date expected to be in November, we should really find out these things.
Also, with official PS5 ads seemingly making the rounds soon, information about the release date and final price should be revealed sooner than later. Stay tuned for more news!
