Pre-Orders Go Live for Microsoft’s Surface Duo, The Dual-Screen Android Phone

Foldable phones don’t represent an entirely new concept, and Microsoft has entered this race as well with its new Surface Duo smartphone. The device is packed with 5.6-inch OLED screens of 1350×1800 pixels that join together to provide a tablet-like view: a screen of 8.1-inch and with a resolution of 1800×2700 pixels.

You can now book the new Microsoft device through the company’s online store, and it’s available for just $1,400 for the base model.

The sales start from September 10

In less than one month, you can buy the new Surface Duo. Microsoft’s gadget can be a great device for gaming, and not only for its extendable display. The foldable device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 855 chipset, and we also shouldn’t overlook the 6GB of RAM, and the available storage of up to 256GB. The phone also packs the latest version of the world’s most popular operating system: Android 10.

The Surface Duo has a price-tag of $1,399.99 (which means approximately Rs. 1,05,000) for the model that’s packed with 128GB of storage. The 256GB storage variant costs $1,499.99 (which roughly means Rs. 1,12,000).

Microsoft describes its new phone as following:

“Surface innovation comes to a mobile device. Impossibly thin and with two high-resolution touchscreens, Surface Duo features the best of Microsoft 365 and every Android app in the Google Play store. It’s a new way to get things done with a revolutionary 360° hinge, multiple modes and new dual-screen enhanced apps that let you view two apps at once or span one across both touchscreens, drag and drop between screens, make phone calls, and more.”

There’s also no need to worry about the battery life of the new Microsoft Surface Duo. The phone is equipped with two batteries that have an overall power of 3,577mAh.
