The OnePlus 8 lineup is ready for its April 14 official presentation. The company might release this time three handsets, OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8 Lite (OnePlus Z).
Some sources, however, suggest that only the Pro version will arrive with full support for the Warp Charge 30 Wireless functionality. And now, we’ve got the official confirmation for such a sleek feature. More details and specs will soon be unveiled, as well.
OnePlus 8 Pro Warp Charge Feature Details
Pete Lau, the OnePlus CEO, has confirmed that only the OnePlus 8 Pro will arrive with the fast charging feature among the other three. He announced the feature on the OnePlus Community, for The Verge, and on Weibo, too. Lau’s confirmation is released after the leaked renders of the Warp Charge feature.
The OnePlus Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charger is believed to charge the upcoming device from 1 % to 50 % in only 30 minutes. It would have an efficiency of 97 % by decreasing the amount of energy that is turned into heat. The charger will use isolated charge pumps.
These things can double and offer stable and fast charging. Also, the charger will communicate with the device during the charging period to give maximum efficiency. Such a performance was obtained with a customized chip that OnePlus 8 Pro houses.
The next OnePlus 8 Pro will also support QI, one of the most commonly used wireless charging standard. Other specs include an EPP wireless charging standard. These chargers can charge the device even at low speeds, from 5W to 10W.
The Warp Charge 30 Wireless, however, is OnePlus’ proprietary development, and the company will start to licensing it for other manufacturers, soon. OnePlus 8 Pro is set to be announced on April 14, when it will unveil its features and specs.
