The Call of Duty League Championships was quite the event. During it, a return of the Zork game and a hacker unveil new details for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
While many of us were getting ready for the Call of Duty League Championships, we actually got to see more than expected, such as competitive teams and other details. During the games, the livestream was “hacked” to introduce us to a more intriguing experience.
An upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War installment is already set to arrive later this year. Activision has unveiled many details so far about the upcoming game, and it seems that it would like to keep the hype up by publishing another teaser. Here is what you need to know.
Recent Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Teaser Details: What to Expect
The recently published teaser shows a hooded figure, who addressed viewers in an electronically modified voice. This “person” brought up the concept of heroes, pointing out that every side comes with one.
Usually, fans appreciate heroes as they train and fight for the side that they chose. However, the hooded figure succeeded in creating quite the mystery by asking: “What happens if the loyalty that these individuals have sworn to a side is betrayed.” It went on to question how the viewer should act if they discovered that everything they knew was a lie.
Furthermore, other odd questions were asked, creating quite the situation and framing the reality as “just a game of cover-ups, lies, and disinformation,” that every side comes up with, indicating that “we are all pawns.” At the end of the short video, the hooded figure asks us to join him so that we can finally see the truth.
The Zork Game Strikes Again
After the teaser interrupted the Call of Duty League Championships, a website dubbed “Pawn Takes Pawn,” emerged. If you access the website and choose any computer monitors on the screen, and type “zork” into a text box, you’ll be redirected to a game called Zork, referencing the hidden game earlier discovered in the series.
The much-awaited Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War series is scheduled to arrive on November 13 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. PS5 and Xbox Series X variants are also under development.
