The launching of a new Mi Smart Band is one of the most expected announcements from Xiaomi so far. The Chinese tech giant unveiled the Mi Band 4 successor earlier last month.
The Mi Smart Band 5 introduces significant upgrades and sleek features. Here are all the details.
Mi Smart Band 5: Features and Specs
Mi Smart Band 5 has a 20 % larger display than its predecessor. It includes a 1.1-inch AMOLED display as compared to the 0.95-inch screen of the Mi Smart Band 4. The new device’s display boasts a 120×294 pixel resolution and up to 450 nits of peak brightness.
Xiaomi has also introduced a myriad of new watch faces, up to 65+ into the mix to offer users more options to customize their Mi Smart Band 5. The best part of customization is that the silicone strap comes in one of the most attractive colors, such as red, mint green, yellow, teal, and more.
However, one of the biggest upgrades that Xiaomi introduced is 5 new sport modes. Mi Smart Band 4 supported only 5 sport modes. Now you can record 10 different types of activities, such as swimming, outdoor running, indoor cycling, jump rope, elliptical machine, yoga, treadmill, freestyle, rowing machine, and walking.
Another big change that users have been demanding for so long is also present aboard the new device. Mi Smart Band 5 features now the much-awaited 24-hour sleep tracking. The fitness tracker comes, too, with a PPG heart rate sensor for 24/7 continuous tracking, and it can display users’ PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence), along with sleep and stress monitoring.
Mi Smart Band 5 is water-resistant up to 50 meters/5 ATM and now features a remote camera shutter button and music playback controls. Xiaomi claims that the new battery of 125mAh will offer an experience for up to 14 days. Also, the new magnetic charger can snap into the pill’s underside, so you don’t need to take off the straps to charge the tracker.
Mi Smart Band 5 Price and Availability
Mi Smart Band 5 comes with a price tag of €39.99 in Europe. Xiaomi didn’t dole out availability details, as it will vary depending on your region.
