LG has hinted at a release event for its upcoming mid-range Velvet device. The smartphone is said to be flaunting one of the most intriguing yet unique designs made by the company. There have been lots of reports and leaks, but LG Velvet was officially announced in South Korea. Among a sleek new design, the smartphone will also arrive with enhanced performance and some much-awaited features.
LG Velvet Full Specs and Features
LG Velvet will sport a 6.8-inch P-OLED screen and some curved edges this time. The display offers a Full HD+ 1080×2460 pixel resolution, a 20:5:9 aspect ratio, and a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, the smartphone houses a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, up to 8GB RAM, 128GB for storage, and support for microSD cards. A battery of 4,300mAh will power the device, but no signs for any fast charging features or other hardware capabilities.
LG Velvet will bring let users try new photo skills, and more reliable and improved experience when it comes to shooting pictures. The camera module comprises an additional 8MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture for wide-angle shots, and a 5MP sensor, too, with an f/2.4 aperture, excellent for depth mapping. At the front panel, we can expect an enhanced photography experience thanks to a 16MP camera sensor with an f/1.9 aperture for video calls and selfies.

LG Velvet arrives with IP68 certification for extra protection against natural stuff such as water and dust. It is certified, as well, with MIL-STD 810G, with support for LG’s Dual Screen accessory. Most significantly, LG Velvet is also welcoming the stylus experience. LG confirms that the smartphone will run on Android 10OS.
LV will start taking pre-orders on May 9. The price tag was announced to be 899,800 Korean Won, meaning almost Rs. 55,769. LG Velvet will be available for buying on May 15 in Aurora Green, Aurora White, Aurora Grey, and Illusion Sunset. LG should soon announce its plan to release the smartphone on the Indian market, as well.
