iOS 13.4.1 – Update Ahead Of The SE Launch

Apple recently released the iOS update number 13.4.1 for iPhone SE owners, which means that iPhone SE smartphones will probably start arriving at customers soon and that they pack iOS 13.4 from the factory.

iPhone SE owners will receive the update via over-the-air channels, via the Settings app. To get the update, open Settings, go to General -> Software Update.

iOS 13.4.1 was released for other Apple smartphones on April 7 to fix an issue that made the devices unable to participate in FaceTime calls with iPhones that ran on iOS 9.3.6 and earlier, or OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 and previous builds.

Patch Notes

Here are the official patch notes of the update, coming straight from Apple:

“iOS 13.4.1 includes bug fixes for your ‌‌iPhone‌‌.

– Fixes an issue where devices running iOS 13.4 could not participate in ‌‌FaceTime‌‌ calls with devices running iOS 9.3.6 and earlier or OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 and earlier.

– Addresses a bug with the Settings app where choosing a Bluetooth from the quick actions menu on the Home screen would fail.”

The iPhone SE was announced earlier this month, and pre-orders started taking place on April 17. The devices should have been shipped already for those who pre-ordered them soon enough.

The SE is perhaps one of the most highly anticipated iPhone models of 2020 thanks to its lower price tag (in comparison to Apple’s flagships).

The new SE has the tough task of carrying the legacy of the original SE further on, which is not an easy job. The 5s-like SE was an absolute best-seller thanks to its compact size and outstanding performance. Many people still use the original SE today, and some don’t plan on changing it anytime soon, which is a testament to how good the device was.
