The biggest advantage of buying a Pixel smartphone is the fact that you will always be the first in line to access all of Google’s software updates. Well, it looks like Pixel fans should start getting ready to receive an all-new version of the Android operating system. The reason why we are saying that is because a Pixel 4 has been spotted on the GeekBench benchmarking website and the smartphone was running a special version of the OS called Android R. This is the first time that we are hearing about Android R and Google has yet to make an official reveal.
Google is Testing Android R
The Android parent is always trying to stay one step ahead of the competition and this is why it is already working on the next-generation Android OS. From the looks of it, the OS will be called Android R and Google is already testing to see if there are any bugs or performance issues in the software. This all has been unveiled in a GeekBench report where Pixel 4’s hardware performances were being tested.
While the first thing that pops up when looking at the GeekBench report is the new version of Android, we should also note that this special model of Pixel 4 is being fueled by none other than Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855. This is an octa-core processor and it has been paired with 6GB of RAM.
Thanks to the powerful processor, Pixel 4 was able to crush the GeekBench tests scoring 2,181 points in the multi-core test and 712 points in the single-core test. From the looks of it, Pixel 4 is shaping up to be one of the world’s fastest smartphones. To make things even better, the smartphone will run on Android R that will boost its performances even further.
