Google Chrome Will Block Ads Soon to Support Your Device’s Performance


News that Google Chrome will soon block a small fraction of big ads emerged recently. To enhance battery life, website speed, and network usage, Chrome will banish ads that consume too many resources.

The company will begin to roll out such an update in the following months and intends to build it into Chrome in August. The update will also remove only the most annoying ad offenders, those that need more than 4MB of network data, and finally, those that occupy Chrome’s main computing process for more than 60 seconds. Google Chrome Will Try to Remove Lots of Ads Soon

Google’s latest ad intervention shows an increasing effort by browse devs to cancel webpage instructions. It will also try to solve issues that can deteriorate the web experience. Marshall Vale, a Chrome program manager, detailed: “While only 0.3 % of ads exceed this threshold today, they account for 27 % of network data used by ads and 28 % of all ad CPU usage.” There are, however, some lucky cases, when the browsers offer one of the best solutions ever. 

The Brave browser, for instance, blocks ads by default. Vivaldi also provides ad blocking as an option, and Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, and Mozilla take lots of measures to cease any ad disturbances. 

Ads might not be content with such changes, but many users are choosing even more aggressive actions than what some browsers do by default. Ad blockers become a must now on computers and mobile devices, as well. Some extensions block the ad tracking completely, so you don’t have to stress about them anymore. 

Google relied back in 2016 on online ads for most of its earnings. But, since 2018, it began to block those annoying webpages that ran too many ads. Now, we wait for a full solution to make Chrome a pleasant environment.
