An exclusive in-game event entirely flooded the Fortnite: Chapter 2 Season 3 map allowing other special summer events to kick in.
Epic Games has confirmed the Summer Splash 2020, which introduces a “rotation of classic limited-time modes with some new ones,” and some unique cosmetics. Here are all the details.
Fortnite Summer Splash 2020 Events and LTMs
Epic Games detailed all the plans for the Summer months on its official website, including new changes to the Fortnite map, new limited-time modes, the return of old modes, and new items. Previously, Epic launched the 14 Days of Summer event that brought old items daily alongside exclusive limited-time events. Summer Splash is the 2020 variant of that event, but it seems to add less than other years.
The Fortnite Summer Splash event seems to take advantage of the new underwater map to recycle well-known modes from older seasons. Returning modes will also bring new features to turn them into something slightly different from when they initially appeared.
“[…] enjoy a rotation of LTMs such as Fog of War (also known as Sneaky Silencers), Close Encounters, Catch!, Unvaulted, and more,” announced Epic Games.
One-Shot Duos, where we have to jump around in low gravity with nothing but snipers, is the first limited-time mode available during the Summer Splash event. Unfortunately, we don’t know yet for how long each mode will be available. New limited-time modes will arrive at a later date during this summer. Epic hasn’t confirmed or released any statements about that yet.
Fortnite Summer Splash 2020 Rewards and Skins
Summer Splash 2020 will introduce unique costumes and other cosmetics you can purchase in the item shop. Epic Games hasn’t revealed if there will be any free rewards during the event, but data miners have spotted some things that hint at free back stuff.
Starflare, a fantastic costume with glowing stars, is the first exclusive summer costume available. A weapon skin and special back bling are also available.
