Facebook Avatar Collection is Now Available in the US

Almost a year after introducing its customizable characters, Facebook announces the US release of Avatars. Users can choose the Bitmoji-like avatars to share personalized experiences across the social platform, in texts, Stories, and comments.

Fidji Simo, the head of the Facebook App, encourages everyone to take part in this fantastic, animated journey. Avatars allow every user to share a lot of expressions and emotions via a digital cute, customizable character. The update was much-awaited in the US. So far, Facebook introduced a series of funny stickers and emojis that are utilized worldwide.

Facebook Surprises US Users With An Avatar Collection

Facebook has been developing a Bijmoji-like collection since at least 2018. The devs officially launched Avatars back in the summer of 2019, exclusively for Australia. They promised, however, that they’re going to roll out the whole collection globally by 2020.

Now, users in the US can create their cartoon character via the Messenger or Facebook comment composer: > “smiley” icon > sticker tab > Create Your Avatar.” Then, they have to choose from a wide variety of skin colors, body types, makeup, hairstyles, and outfits to represent themselves. Simo detailed: “There are so many different ways you can use your Avatar, in comments, Stories, Messenger, for example – and soon text posts with some sleek backgrounds, too!”

Introducing so many expressions and emotions to choose from, Facebook allows you to react, express yourself, to engage more authentically with your friends, colleagues, and family across the app. Cartoonish figures sure will do the trick and make some conversations more genuine and intriguing.

But, not all folks are enjoying such news. Simo’s statement gathered a lot of mixed responses. There are still users who didn’t receive the update. Simo, however, announced that the feature “will roll out by the end of the day (May 14),” so users should not worry.
