Dragon Ball FighterZ: Patch Notes for Season 3.5

Master Roshi arrives in the new Season 3.5 patch for Dragon Ball FighterZ, and there are many other new things to take into account. The fans are excited to see Goku’s first major trainer available as a playable character, and there’s no wonder why: just like in the anime, Master Roshi will be capable of performing the Evil Containment Wave (aka Mafuba), the iconic Kamehameha wave, and more.

The new Season 3.5 update arrives for Dragon Ball FighterZ at September 16, and let’s see what it brings new besides the old turtle hermit:

System changes:

– Z Assist C Type
– Speed up the attack’s start-up (but not when the opponent is in hitstun).

• Specific Aerial Specials
– Landing attacks outside of the screen and high up in the air will have the camera center back on action.

• Training
– Counterattack conditions can be set in “enemy settings.”

Super Saiyan Goku:

• Crouching Medium Attack
– Sped up the attack’s start up.

• Kamehameha
– When used as a mid-air followup, any hit but the final one will cause a ground bounce.

• Z Assist A Type
– Fixed a problem in which the effect would remain on screen under certain conditions.

• Z Assist Type B
– Sped up the move’s startup.

Super Saiyan Vegeta:
• Final Flash
– Sped up the attack’s startup.

Teen Gohan:
• Z Assist Type B
– The character appears further forward.
– Increased hitstop when an attack lands.

• Z Assist Type C
– Character position changes based on the opponent’s height.
– Slow down the attack’s start-up (except when the opponent is in hitstun).

Trunks:
• Z Assist A Type
– Increased stun time.
– Increased hitstop for the situation when the attack lands.

Piccolo:
• Standing Unique Attack
– The attack will now hit enemies while they are in hitstun.

• Demon Slicer
– Sped up the startup when the opponent is in mid-air hitstun (ground version only).

• Hellzone Grenade
– Will no longer explode if the attack is deflected by a Z Reflect.

• Standing/Crouching/Jumping Unique Attack
– The attack can now be postponed by holding the button.

• Demon Elbow (Heavy)
– Reduced recovery when the attack doesn’t come out.

• Z Assist
– The character appears further forward.
– Adjusted knockback on mid-air hit.
– Increased stun time.

• Z Assist C Type
– Added invincibility when the character emerges (except when the opponent is in hitstun).

Gotenks:

• Miracle Super Punch (Heavy)
– Increased distance moved downward during the mid-air version.
– Adjusted knockback.

• Great Special Rolling Kick
– A special move performed during this attack will be performed after the hitbox becomes active.

• Standing Light Attack: Followup 1
– Adjusted knockback.

• Great Special Rolling Kick (Light)
– Performing the upward kick while on the ground will treat the character as being on the ground.
– Adjust the distance moved during the attack.
– Adjusted knockback.
– Increased the number of hits for the mid-air version.
– Adjusted the mid-air version’s damage.
– Adjusted the mid-air version’s delay.

• Galactic Donuts
– When the initial hit lands, a special move or Z Change can be performed in the 2nd half for the attack’s animation.
– During the camera shift, a super dash can be performed with additional input.
– When the initial hit lands against a sub-character, the character will now enter a mid-air stagger animation.

• Miracle Super Punch
– A special move performed during this attack will be performed after this attack’s hitbox becomes active.
– Extended the move’s hitbox upward.

• Z Assist A Type
– When the initial hit lands against a sub-character,there will be a mid-air stagger animation.
– The initial hit can no longer KO the opponent’s main character.

• Z Assist B Type
– Increased the number of hits.
– Adjusted damage.
– Adjusted distance moved during the attack.

Frieza:
• Z Assist Type B
– The character appears further forward.
– Adjusted projectile speed when the attack hits the opponent.

• Z Assist Type C
– The character appears further forward.

The list of upgrades for the players’ techniques is even higher, which means that playing the game ASAP is a ‘must’ if you’re a fan.
