Discord Version 27-alpha1 Update: What’s New
The Discord version 27-alpha1 update brings Voice Overlay. The feature allows you to see who’s talking and access shortcuts while using other apps. The best part – you don’t have to switch back to Discord.
Videos can now play online in full screen in chat. The full-screen video playback now has player controls for playing, seeking, and pausing.
The bug fixes include keyboard bugs, and now you can type in your chat app. Also, when you reconnect to a voice call, it should maintain muted.
Discord So Far
Discord was initially released in May 2015. It was developed for creating communities from gamers to businesses and education. The platform specializes in video, text, image, and video communication between users in a chat channel.
Discord runs on Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, web browsers, and macOS. You can create a server on the platform, manage the public visibility and access, and create even more channels. For instance, within a server, you can create channels within a category framework, with the access and the visibility on the channels customizable.
One of the customization settings is the ability to rate the channels as NSFW (Not Safe For Work), which forces the first-time viewers of your channel to confirm that they’re over 18 and ready to view such content. Discord also offers tools for users to create their Internet bots.
Every Discord user gets a unique four-digit “discriminator,” displayed as a four-digit number, a “#,” after their username. Discord offers a monthly subscription, Discord Nitro, for $9.99.
