Nowadays, social media has become an important part of our lives. But it is not very easy to work on it. It takes a lot of time and patience. Quite recently, TikTok has become a popular app – it’s the old Musical.ly. You know, people post short music clips for entertainment. There is also one new app that follows the same concept, called Byte. But what is the difference between these two, and which one is better?
The time you’re allowed to post per video
TikTok only allows short music video clips – from 15 seconds to one minute. However, Byte allows an even shorter time, six-second video, or even less. Remember vines?
The features are quite different
TikTok comes with a lot of features, filters, effects, songs, and special edits. But the videos all seem to be identical. There are the same filters, the same dance moves, the same everything—even the same songs. But things are different with the Byte app. You can create a video of your own, with your own music, which makes the videos more interesting and unique.
When it comes to followings
Byte does not feature the number of persons you’re following, and it does not even show their profiles for the public. The creator of the app, Dom Hofmann, wants to focus more on the quality of the video, and not the popularity of the user – which is what TikTok does. So if you’re looking for creative ways to do videos, without being a “star on the internet,” then download the Byte app.
When it comes to popularity
It seems that TikTok has a lot of influence on social media. You see, TikTok videos all over Facebook and Instagram. There are so many people using it, promoting their work, through dances or lip-syncs or storytimes. Some users are very popular, and the number of followings gets bigger and bigger every day. If you want to promote your work, but TikTok is too much competition, then Byte might be a good place to start. But it might get crowded, so you might want to hurry.
