2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition Brings the Retro Feeling Back

The 2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition will be launched to celebrate the brand’s history. Its design details will evoke touches from the 1950s and ’60s.

Porsche is making the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition in a limited run of 992 units as a reference to the next generation’s internal designation. Here is what you need to know.

Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition Will Be 2021’s Retro Car

Porsche’s design department succeeded in reaching deep into the brand’s unlimited reservoir of colors, furbelows, badges, and frills. The 2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition is painted in Cherry Red Metallic (also available in Guards Red, GT Silver Metallic, and Black) white design elements and the “spears” spread from the headlights to the A-pillars. The stripes on the doors and large circles feature start numbers that can be seen right away, along with the silver Targa roll bar.

A closer look, and we can spot a lot of other retro details, such as the wheel-hub covers and the “historical Porsche crest of 1963,” applied to the front trunk lid. Porsche has added some wheels influenced by the popular Fuchs design of the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear sizes. Lettering on the rear and the Targa bar is made of gold, for an extra retro touch. What’s more intriguing, there is a “heritage” badge that evokes the 100,000-kilometer badge that Porsche 356 owners got back in the day when they reached that milestone.

The 2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition’s interior sports a bicolor leather, beige blended with red and black. Corduroy fabric is on seats and door trim, and the instruments resemble the 356 style, being illuminated in green. For the Heritage Design Edition buyers, Porsche made a limited-edition chronograph.

The 2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition is priced at $181,950 and set for release in late summer. The regular 911 Targa 4S is priced at $45,400, bringing a lot of handmade trim.
