CRN is back with the latest release of his Evolution theme 1.2.4 with a new Aeon design and textures(Original credits to djh_). There are lots of other improvements including Floor overlays, support for the new home module, embedded fonts and many other fixes. If you're upgrading its a pretty big change due to the home screen plugin requirement so it might be worth waiting for the release of the next MeediOS ultimate package.

The MeediOS community charts have gone live after a short period of testing. The new website is great for discovering new tvshows, movies and music. If you want to contribute to the charts, install the MeediOS.Community plugin and configure it with your forum username.

It is now possible to use multiple fanart all over MeediOS thanks to the great work from CRN and flclsd on our forums. You can set fanart to change on the main menu, download additional fanart from a popup in the media module or display multiple images in the now playing screens. The best thing of all is that there's no slowdown anymore for large fanart collections. Click on the image above to see the video of these new features in action.

MeediOS has traditionally used "tag masks" to import media filenames. This was great for the power user, providing a way to import just about any kind of naming scheme. Unfortunately new users found this difficult to understand so flclsd started work on a set of specific Movie and TVShow file importers. After many days of testing they have been released and quickly embraced by the community. Most people will simply have to install the plugin and it should automatically find movie names and tvshow details without any kind of advanced configuration.

Have you ever looked at a cast list and wondered what else an actor has been in? Now with the release of meePopupProvider it's possible to view, import and filter by an actor's real name. You will need to update the evolution theme where these functions are available from a popup menu inside tvshows or movie libraries.

Everyone likes good looking artwork, so forum member flclsd has released the "nicecovers" importer for MeediOS. Just run the import on your TV show or Movie library to turn any posters into a classy looking box art.

In the last month alone, there have been 104 plugin updates! With such an active development community it can sometimes be hard to keep up to date with all the new releases. To help users keep track of everything flclsd wrote the OpenMAIDOS module, it will instantly show new plugins or those that need to be updated from a simple graphical interface. It can also show details and screenshots for any plugin on our central repository. Just select an item to update and install.
